DESCRIPTION:The UK Safer Internet Centre are delighted to have teamed up with Dundee\nCity Council to deliver a FREE 90-minuteOnline Safety event. (Open to all in Dundee\, Angus\, and Perth & Kinross)\nOpen to all who work with children and young people\, this event will give\nyou the latest in research\, legislation\, technology\, tools and resources along\nwith exclusive access to the presentation and resource materials.\nSafety online is constantly changing\, and the purpose of Online Safety Live\nevents is to provide access to this information\, right on people’s doorsteps.\nWe understand that everyone is busy\, and the feedback has been clear that\ngetting significant time away from work is a challenge – this is the reason\nwhy we have organised these events as short briefing sessions. They provide\nvital information\, critically supplemented with access to detailed resources\nto review later. The team will also be available to answer any of your online\nsafety queries or questions. How do we embed them? \nAims of session: \nWhat? \nTo raise awareness and understanding of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) \nWhy? \nTo link rights-based practice to the Scottish legislation and policy context \nTo support individuals\, establishments and organisations to begin to reflect on and self-evaluate their current practice in light of the UNCRC \nHow? \nTo enable the support of rights-based practice across schools and other organisations \nTo ensure we fully take the UNCRC into account in all our actions \nThis session is open to all practioners across Tayside who work with children and young people\, and are looking to promote and embed Children’s Rights in their context.
