The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) will be incorporated into law in Scotland by the end of this year. This will give children’s rights the highest possible protection and will mean that public authorities have to ensure that all policies and procedures comply with children’s rights.
To help with this, Maxine Jolly from Education Scotland will be leading an awareness raising session on the UNCRC and it’s implication for education and children’s services. This session is designed for Headteachers and will also offer advice/guidance on how we can incorporate the UNCRC into our everyday practice, but also highlight the current work/policies that already takes place in our education establishments.
This session will take place via Microsoft Teams on 7 June 2021 from 4pm to 5:30pm. The invite for the Teams meeting is being distributed to all Headteachers to enable participation.
