Tayside Regional Improvement Collaborative – Priority Group 1, Support for Families (Welfare & Poverty, 0-5 years)
The following animation describes the important role in which key universal health and educational services can play in enabling children to get the best start in life. We know the cost of raising a family can be significant for households. That’s why Priority Group 1 have been working in partnership to deliver education and training, developing direct pathways and referral routes into welfare advice services.

Between April-November 2021, 614 referrals have been made to welfare advice services for money, benefit and debt support. The financial gains have reached approx. £800,000 to date for families. We believe our services are the eyes and ears of the community, and we want to raise the issue of money and wider supports with our patients, children and families to ensure they are receiving the full benefit entitlements.
