Our Virtual Campus “Bootcamp” induction course is now SCQF credit rated by SQA. Successful completion will lead to the award of ‘The Certificate in Preparing for Digital Learning in the Senior Phase’ and giving students an additional 3 SCQF points at Level 6.
Virtual Campus Co-ordinator, Dave Keenan, said “This additional qualification rewards the hard work of our students in preparing for study in an online environment, as well as building their knowledge and skills, especially in relation to study techniques, research, essay writing, using technology as well as supporting their health and well-being”.
“We expect around 150 students from 23 Tayside secondary schools to benefit from this qualification this year alone. Through Virtual Campus, these young people can study for a qualification in a subject which they would not otherwise be able to, mostly in Advanced Highers. This new course and award helps to lay the groundwork for success in their attainment”.
“The process of designing this new course and qualification has been hard work and it’s certainly not easy to create a qualification which allows flexibility in delivery but retains rigour in its assessment and quality assurance processes. However, both SCQF and SQA have been fantastic in their support”.
