As you may be aware, the Tay Numeracy & Mathematics Conference will be held on Saturday 23rd March 2019 at Dundee University. Building on the success of previous conferences organised by Angus colleagues, this year’s conference promises to be even bigger and better, with two keynote speakers.
This year’s theme is Pedagogy and Practice. What’s New? Back by popular demand is primary maths specialist, Professor Ruth Merttens. Our other keynote speaker is Stuart Welsh, PT Mathematics at the High School of Glasgow and the brains behind www.maths180.com. There will be the usual array of workshops to suit both sectors, including follow up sessions by Ruth and Stuart.
I would be grateful if you could alert your staff to this professional learning opportunity and reply to Moira Learmonth – [email protected] by Friday 22nd February, indicating approximate numbers attending from your school/department. This will allow us to organise catering and make an informed decision about whether or not we will be able to offer this opportunity to interested colleagues out with the TRIC.
